Tiffany Chen

Tiffany grew up in the sunny suburbs of Los Angeles and migrated east for college, where she received an A.B. from Harvard in anthropology. Returning to the west coast, she got her start in chemistry working on transannular and [6+4] cycloadditions in the Houk lab at UCLA. She moved to the Bay area in 2014 and worked on trifluoromethyl gold complexes in the Toste group at UC Berkeley, where she received a second Bachelor’s degree. Venturing back to the east coast, she joined the MacMillan group at Princeton in 2016 to conduct research in metallaphotoredox catalysis. In her free time, Tiffany enjoys trying new foods, traveling, running, hiking, all varieties of music, and transcontinental moves.

  • Tiffany is an avid gardener.
  • Her favorite things to grow are okra, kale, heirloom tomatoes, and acorn squash.
  • Tiffany loves farm-to-table cooking and has learned to incorporate kale into every meal, like the true Californian she is.
