Jens grew up in Osterbruch, a small German village by the sea whose most famous son is a horse. After a voluntary year in Hamburg, he studied chemistry at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster from where he obtained both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree. In between, he spent a three-month research internship at Hoffmann-La Roche in Basel. Jens became Dr. rer. nat. Jens by working with Prof. Martin Oestreich at the Technische Universität Berlin before he joined the MacMillan lab as a postdoctoral fellow. In his spare time, Jens writes about himself in the third person.
