Dr. Wei Liu

Wei was born in Hunan, a humid southern state in China. He moved to Hong Kong Baptist University to complete his Bachelor’s degree in 2012. During his undergraduate research, he worked on material chemistry on OLEDs and later on Bronsted acid organocatalysts. Continuing his love for synthesis, Wei performed graduate studies at UIUC in the laboratory of Prof. Christina White, where he worked on palladium catalyzed asymmetric allylic C-H functionalizations. Wei obtained Ph.D. degree in 2018 and joined the MacMillan group at Princeton in February, 2019. In his spare time, Wei enjoys hiking and taking photos, as well as playing and watching soccer.
