Dr. Jacob Geri
B. Sci., Stetson University, 2012
Ph. D., University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, 2018
Jacob was born in Bellingham, Washington but lived his early life exiled in the swamps of Central Florida. He completed his undergraduate chemistry degree at Stetson University in Deland, Florida, where his research in Professor John York’s group used computational tools to study the electronic structure of inorganic compounds. Later he moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he completed his PhD studies with Professor Nathaniel Szymczak by standing elbow-deep in a glovebox for six years. His doctoral research used non-traditional Lewis acid/base pairs to activate boranes, 1-H fluoroalkanes, and dinitrogen. In the fall of 2018, Jacob joined the MacMillan group as a postdoctoral fellow.
