Dr. Daniel Kim

Daniel was born and raised in Horsham, Pennsylvania in the suburbs of Philadelphia. He earned his bachelors degree at Gettysburg College where he worked with Professor Tim Funk studying Fe- and Pd-catalysis. He then moved cross country to Irvine, California joining Professor Vy M. Dong’s research team where he earned his doctorate. In his time there, he studied Co- and Rh-catalysis and completed a short medicinal chemistry internship at Pfizer, La Jolla under Dr. Paul Richardson. Daniel returned to the east coast to Princeton, New Jersey and joined the MacMillan group as a postdoctoral scholar. Outside of the lab, Daniel enjoys cooking, hiking, and playing soccer.
- Daniel has played in soccer tournaments in England, Germany, and various cities in the United States.
- He also has various side hobbies. Currently, he is trying calligraphy. Will do wedding invitations for a fee.
- Daniel grew up in his parents dry cleaning store where he learned how to dry clean clothes, press shirts, and sew buttons. He also read the MSDS of perchloroethylene when he was a kid.
