Albert was born in Cambrils, a small town at the south of Catalonia. He completed his degree in Chemistry from Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona) in 2014. During the last course, he spent 4 months working at The University of Nottingham as an Erasmus student and 3 months at ICIQ within a summer fellowship. Afterwards, he moved to Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona where he obtained a Master degree. During that year, Albert received a fellowship to pursue his PhD studies in Organic Chemistry at IRB Barcelona/Universitat de Barcelona. In his doctoral thesis, he is working in the development of new synthetic methodologies and asymmetric catalysis under the supervision of Prof. Antoni Riera. Albert has joined MacMillan’s lab as a visiting student. Outside the lab, he loves going to the cinema, partying with friends and traveling as much as possible.

Fun Facts
  • At work, Albert cannot live without planning first.
  • Albert is a huge football fan. Particularly, he is a Nastic supporter, a football team which plays in the 2nd division of the Spanish League.
  • He's addicted to several Netflix series, particularly thriller ones. What he hates though is waiting for the following season to be released.
